South Africa's 🇿🇦 President Cyril Ramaphosa has appointed 36-year-old Yusuf Cassim as Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Training. Born in the Eastern Cape, Cassim is a senior Democratic Alliance politician and a Muslim South African of Indian descent. He entered Parliament in 2014 at the age of 24, becoming South Africa's youngest Member of Parliament at the time. Cassim has pledged to strengthen higher education and expand access to opportunities for disadvantaged students.
