A 52-year-old Nepali Sherpa guide, Dawa Sherpa, has been rescued after surviving nearly a week alone on the slopes of Mount Everest without food, water, or supplemental oxygen. Dawa went missing on May 29 while descending from the mountain after an unsuccessful summit attempt with a Polish climber, disappearing between Camp III and Camp IV. A search team from the Sagarmatha Pollution Control Committee found him near the dangerous Khumbu Icefall and brought him to safety. He was immediately airlifted for treatment and is recovering from frostbite and other complications. Family members confirmed he is conscious and able to speak, while rescue officials described his survival under such extreme conditions as “nothing short of a miracle.” #mountaineering #everest #mounteverest #nepal #sherpa #survival #rescue #breakingnews #adventure #climbing #himalayas #khumbuicefall #outdoors #worldnews #mountainrescue #humaninterest #inspiration #nepalnews #extremesurvival #miracle #news #africabusinessradio #fyp
