We are delighted to celebrate the history of Camden Airport with a new plaque honouring Edward Macarthur Onslow. Macarthur Onslow founded the airport in 1939 as a private aerodrome, before it was taken over by the Commonwealth Government for use by the Royal Australian Air Force during World War II. The plaque is now proudly displayed on one of the two original hangars built by Macarthur Onslow nearly 90 years ago. We recently unveiled the plaque at the airport alongside Camden MP Sally Quinnell, airport operators, and members of the Macarthur Onslow family. Some descendants still live near the airport, keeping the legacy alive today. Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate the extraordinary history of Camden Airport and the people who shaped it. Come down to Camden Airport to see the plaque and enjoy spotting some aircraft in action!
