We have published our final decisions on cost pass through applications from seven network service providers - AusNet Services, Jemena, CitiPower, Powercor, United Energy, Evoenergy and Energex. These applications sought to recover costs from regulatory changes and natural disaster events that had not been accounted for in current revenue determinations. We assessed whether these costs were prudent and efficient to ensure consumers pay no more than necessary for network costs in their energy bills. We approved cost pass through amounts for several network businesses that arose from the ‘Unlocking CER (Consumer Energy Resources) benefits through flexible trading’ rule change: · AusNet Services – $0.18 million · Jemena – $1.41 million · Citipower – $0.89 million · Powercor – $2.05 million · United Energy – $3.26 million · Evoenergy – $1.51 million. We also approved additional cost recovery for Jemena related to other regulatory changes: · AEMO’s Market Interface Technology Enhancements – $0.67 million · Accelerating smart meter deployment – $0.16 million · Victorian Emergency Backstop Mechanism 2 Ministerial Order – $0.74 million. Lastly, we approved a $66.1 million cost pass through amount for Energex for costs incurred from Tropical Cyclone Alfred.
