This week, Shivani T. Patil, CCM, A. DBIA, Associate Vice President, New York Metro, and Co-Chair of the Professional Women in Construction, New York (PWC NY) Mentorship Program Committee, led a site tour of the NYC Borough Based Jails (BBJ) Program Brooklyn Facility for more than 20 PWC members. She was supported by Jarrad Morris, PE, RA, NCARB, Assoc. DBIA, Deputy Program Manager and Shari Leventhal, PE, Design Project Manager from Langan Engineering & Environmental Services. We’re proud to partner with the NYC Department of Design and Construction (DDC) on the Borough-Based Jails (BBJ) Program, an initiative supporting the City’s commitment to justice reform. Led by DDC, the program is delivering four new, borough-based correctional facilities across Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx. We serve as the Program Management Consultant in a joint venture on this project, New York City’s first large-scale design-build program. This tour created space for women in the industry to discuss the project’s challenges and solutions to learn from one another in real time. Experiences like this strengthen mentorship, build confidence and reinforce the value of representation at every level. We’re grateful to Shivani for her dedication to PWC NY and look forward to creating more opportunities to connect, learn and lead together. Learn more about the PWC NY chapter: https://www.pwc-ny.org/
