Earlier this week, Advance HE held the Ireland Fellowship Forum as part of the Elevate Ireland series, hosted by Munster Technological University at their Bishopstown Campus in Cork. The event, sponsored by evasys Surveys and Evaluations, focused on connecting and celebrating our Fellowship community with opportunities to network and share experiences about teaching and supporting learning practice and its transformative effect on teaching and learning. The Forum provided a platform to hear from fellows about the impact of being professionally recognised through Fellowship as well as presentations from two Advance HE member institutions discussing the strategic advantages of adopting the Professional Standards Framework (PSF 2023) to support and enhance professional practice in teaching and supporting learning, through Fellowship. Our highlights from the event include some inspiring stories about the personal impact of Fellowship, such as: 👉Recognising how the PSF’s Professional Values can be used to demonstrate and enhance professional practice leading to positive student outcomes through deliberate and intentional practice 👉How the application writing process, and requirements provide opportunity for reflection and stepping back to think about the impact on students affirming why we do what we do and how this improves confidence 👉How the use of the PSF as a common language has helped to break down silos and foster greater continuity across teams, particularly in the context of mergers and multi-campus institutions We were also delighted to welcome the Higher Education Authority to the Forum to share an update about the new National Professional Recognition Framework for Teaching and Learning and how Fellowship could be used as evidence of practice and quality as part of this important development in Irish Higher Education. We ended the day with presentations from colleagues at Munster Technological University who showcased their work from the Digital Teaching Excellence Showcase as part of the Elevate Ireland series to celebrate educational excellence and Fellowship in Ireland.
