Today at HANNOVER MESSE I had the privilege to discuss how we can move from Frozen Factories to Living Systems. Together with Katharina Jessa (Wandelbots), Joschka Finkbeiner (thyssenkrupp Automotive Body Solutions), and Tomas Lekic (Festo), we Explorer why many factories are still too rigid to keep pace with software-defined products — and what it takes to build adaptive production environments. In “Scaling Space — how ecosystems, suppliers and serial production power the Space Economy”, with Christian Schumacher (OHB SE) and Elisabeth Brauch (EY), the discussion focused on a similar challenge in the space sector:moving from single missions to industrialized, serial production and resilient supply ecosystems. My biggest takeaway from Day 3:Whether in manufacturing or space — competitiveness will depend on the ability to scale complex systems, not just design them.
