Financing For Development Leader | Strategic Partnerships | Innovative Capital for Social Impact

What happens to a child's education when a flood hits and school closes for weeks? In Asia, this is not a hypothetical, it is the reality for millions of children every year. Save the Children International's Asia team will be leading a session at the 59th ADB Annual Meeting's Civil Society Program in Samarkand this May. 🎓 Climate Resilience Financing for Learning Continuity in Asia This session will examine how governments, multilateral development banks, civil society, and private-sector partners can jointly safeguard learning continuity amid escalating climate shocks; and how coordinated action can mobilise development finance and attract private sector investment for climate-resilient education. At the centre of this is Education Uninterrupted, Save the Children Asia's parametric insurance model designed to protect children's right to learn, even in the face of climate disasters. Currently being piloted in China and slated for replication across Pakistan, Laos, Cambodia, Bangladesh, and Nepal. When a climate threshold is met, funds flow to schools within 24–48 hours. No delays. No bureaucracy. Children stay in school. 📅 4 May 2026 | 2:30–4:00 PM (UTC +5) | Expo Center 2, Samarkand 🌐 Online participation available.
