Our multicentre work on subvalvular aortic stenosis (SAS) in adults was published today in the European Heart Journal! 🫀✨   In this collaboration, we investigated the long-term clinical course and outcomes of adults with SAS using data from the Dutch CONCOR registry, with a median follow-up of 16 years.   🔍 Key takeaways: - Adults with SAS generally show slow disease progression and reasonable long-term survival. - Outcomes were worse in patients with a history of SAS surgery, likely reflecting a more severe disease phenotype in this group. - No patients demonstrated rapid disease progression, suggesting that less intensive echocardiographic follow-up may be sufficient in selected cases. - Clinical follow-up should focus not only on gradients, but also on the cardiovascular sequelae of SAS such as left ventricular hypertrophy, aortic valve regurgitation, arrhythmias and heart failure.   These findings help refine follow-up strategies and support a more patient-tailored approach to care in adults with SAS.
