Vice President, Worldwide Field and Channel Marketing
Earlier in my career while at Nokia, I had the opportunity to interact closely with a really amazing product marketing team and almost explored heading down this path. Life progressed in a different direction and I missed the opportunity unfortunately. Years later due to merges and organisation changes, I once again forayed into products when I took on a category manager role and learnt tremendously from my then team manager. I learnt a lot then from impact of accurate forecasting in a HW world to NPI launch processes and more… but fortunately or maybe unfortunately, I moved back into field and channel marketing and that became the bulk of my career for the next decade and more. Years on, I’ve circled back and finally completed my product marketing certification. While it doesn’t mean I’m heading down this path or will pivot now, it does provide me with a different perspective on how to be better at what I do, how I can collaborate better and i now have additional toolset to leverage when I need them. Thank you Karl Van den Bergh for nudging me along to get this done. Thank you Justin Chiah for my early learnings in category management and Allison J. Taylor for being my earliest coach and influence in product marketing. #lifelonglearning
