This past weekend, I had the privilege of volunteering at the Thrive Event — a powerful gathering centered on Real Stories, Real Connections, Real Change. A few of my key takeaways: 🔹 Mindset matters – thriving in a new environment requires moving from survival mode to confidence and courage. 🔹 Breaking barriers – whether it’s “no Canadian experience” or industry misconceptions, resilience and persistence are crucial. 🔹 The power of networks & mentors – credibility, growth, and opportunities often come through genuine connections and community. 🔹 Alternative pathways – success does not always follow a straight line; exploring industries beyond traditional roles can open unexpected doors. 🔹 Thriving beyond survival – resilience, authenticity, and faith remain key ingredients in navigating challenges and building lasting success. Beyond the inspiring panel discussions, the networking sessions were a reminder of the importance of collaboration, accountability, and supporting one another on the journey. I left the event encouraged, challenged, and more committed to helping others survive and thrive. Special appreciation to our amazing guest speakers — Fatima Muhammed Ibrahim, Ola O., Ominini A., Yomi Fabunmi MBA, PMP, PSM, Temi Kagho, M.ENG, PMP, Ifeoma Okemini Arowolo , Mosinmiloluwa Oluwagbohunmi Owoso, and David Ojeyinka — for their honesty, wisdom, and encouragement. Your stories and insights continue to light the path for many of us. #ThrivingTogether #Networking #CareerGrowth #ImmigrantSuccess #MindsetShift
