Today is World Health Day! This year’s theme is 'Together for health. Stand with science' and OneHealth@AdelaideUniversity is a perfect example. Uniting expertise across all disciplines to address complex and emerging challenges, OneHealth@AdelaideUniversity aims to tackle the big issues that face the health of humans, animals and the environment 🙋🏻‍♀️🦒🌻 Their vision is for a healthy, resilient world for all living things and their environments by: 💜 Providing forums for discussion 💜 Fostering a collaborative and transdisciplinary approach 💜 Engaging with Government and industry to collaborate on projects 💜 Building capacity in research, grant, and career development Right now, OneHealth@AdelaideUniversity are currently working on: 🦁 Greater Kruger One Health Elective: Final-year veterinary students travel to South Africa to gain real-world exposure to wildlife, public health, and biosecurity challenges near Kruger National Park. From investigating zoonotic diseases to empowering local communities, this transformative hands on experience builds the next generation of global One Health leaders. 🪸 Reef restoration: The harmful algal bloom in South Australia highlights the One Health connection between the environment and the health of people. New funding to restore shellfish reefs across South Australia will help rebuild healthier ecosystems and healthier communities.
