💡 Did you know that... When tooling has been removed from the tablet press and has been cleaned, the condition of the punches and dies should be assessed for the following: ▫️Tip face deterioration (abrasion, corrosion, or pitting), ▫️Tip edge / land damage or burring, ▫️Scoring of the tip straight, ▫️Scoring/damage to the punch barrel, ▫️Under head damage / wear, ▫️Head radius or dwell flat damage / wear, ▫️Die bore wear (ringing), ▫️Die outside diameter or face damage, ▫️Corrosion/discoloration of punches and dies. ➡️ The results of the assessment will determine the level of repair or polishing work required if any. ⚠️ Damage to tooling is usually a result of faulty equipment or inappropriate procedures and prevention should be the priority.
