I'm a cross-border criminal defense lawyer in Hong Kong. I deal in complexity for a living. But the hardest thing I've ever done was hold a kitten who couldn't walk and believe that she would. She was born with swimmer syndrome. Her legs splayed out. She couldn't stand. We bandaged her, braced her, brought her to physical therapy. She walked. Then she got sick. And we had a year.
