Acwa Central Asia was honored to welcome the Japanese Joint Venture senior management delegation for the site visit at the Sazagan Solar I and II in Samarkand The distinguished delegation included Mr. Hajime Mori, Group CEO, Energy Transformation Business Group, Sumitomo Corporation; Mr. Jun Minase, General Manager, Overseas Energy Solution Strategic Business Unit and Deputy General Manager, Energy Innovation Initiative Strategic Business Unit, Sumitomo Corporation; Mr. Hisashi Shirai, Director and Executive Vice President, Shikoku Electric Power Co Inc; and Mr. Hiroki Sato, Senior Managing Executive Officer, Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc. The visit was led by Abid Malik, President, Acwa Central Asia, together with the Project Company CEO Alimardon Abdukarimov.   During the visit, our guests were introduced to the progress of the project through a safety induction presentation, followed by a tour of the site where they familiarize with on-ground project progress of PV, Grid Substation and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), finished by tree planting session. Acwa Power Sazagan Solar I & II are biggest solar and BESS project in Central Asia with the capacity of 1000MW PV and 1336 MWh of BESS that enable us to supply renewable energy to more than 770,000 households in Uzbekistan. We are sincerely grateful for the continued support and trust of our partners.
