#EverySecondCounts - let's talk about this and what it means for you.     With #911, you want your call to come through and to be answered fast. But what happens if your #Emergency #Communications Centers were attacked by #hackers or #hacktivists? At CUA911, we take steps to protect our systems through #CyberHygiene practices that keep your data safe, too. Here are some tips to share for your home or office to protect #WhatMattersMost.   🎣 Phishing remains the #1 entry point for cyber attackers.   According to recent studies, over 90% of data breaches begin with a phishing email. Yet many people still miss the subtle signs, like:       •    Slightly altered domain names     •    Urgent or threatening language     •    Unexpected attachments or “too good to be true” offers   🔍 Why does this matter?   Because even one click can open the door to serious damage, data loss, financial fraud, or ransomware attacks.   📢 Cybersecurity awareness isn’t a checkbox, it’s a continuous practice.   It’s not just about compliance; it’s about building a resilient security culture at home and at work. Awareness training works. Organizations that invest in ongoing, bite-sized cybersecurity training see up to a 70% drop in phishing click rates.   At home, look at email addresses for names that don’t match the name in the email display. Also be alert to when an email to you is a blind copy but sent to someone else in the ‘To’ line. Simple punctuation or spelling problems as well as capitalization can be alerts to something is phishy…   Thanks Center for Development of Security Excellence for the imagery and to Virginia Department of Emergency Management for the great cyber insights.    #CybersecurityAwarenessMonth
