Honestly I think this is a poor decision for our area. I much preferred option 3a which proposed splitting Kent into three unitary authorities, with Folkestone & Hythe joining Dover, Thanet, Ashford, and Canterbury to form a large East Kent unitary authority. Those are area which share many common issues and links. This made much more sense than partnering us with Swale. But I know that the council staff and elected members will do all they can to make it work.
