One of the things I’ve come to appreciate since joining Jacobs is that successful program management is rarely about solving a single technical challenge. It’s about creating the governance, alignment and trust that allow thousands of decisions to move in the same direction over the life of a program. I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with Keoki Sears over the past several months, and one of the lessons that has stood out most is that leadership becomes increasingly important as complexity grows. The most successful programs aren’t defined by having fewer challenges. They’re defined by leaders who bring clarity, build strong relationships, and keep organizations aligned around a common purpose. Whether the program involves transportation, water, energy or the built environment, those fundamentals remain the same.
