لعلّ الوقت قد حان لتغيير هام في الطريقة التي يمارس بها المهندس المعماري عمله …بعيدا عن قوالب مكاتب الدراسات التقليدية ، وحزم ملفات المخططات ، بحيث تعود الهندسة المعمارية إلى جوهرها، إذ من غير المناسب دائما الانسياق وراء الوسائل وتناسي الأهداف ! فهل من الانسب تعريف المهندس المعماري بالأدوات التي ينتجها، ام بالمشاكل التي يحلّها ؟ مع صعود الذكاء الاصطناعي، و قدرته على إنتاج المخططات والرسومات والوثائق الفنية، يتضح جليًا أمر واحد: أصبح الرسم متاحًا للجميع، بينما لا يزال التقييم نادرًا. لذا، لا يكمن مستقبل المهندس المعماري في إنتاج المخططات فحسب، بل يكمن في إتقان التعامل مع محتوى العمارة العميق بحيث يكون أقلّ إنتاجًا للرسومات، وأكثر من ذلك: استراتيجيًا، ومنسقًا، وحلالاً للمشاكل! ولتوضيح هذا التطور: في مشروع "مسمر ريزيدنس" في مدينة أطار شمال البلاد، دعمت شركتنا، MCB، تحويل منزل تقليدي إلى إقامة سكنية. وفي هذه التجربة لم نقم بانتاج اية ملفات ومخططات تفصيلية كما جرت العادة ،واقتصرت قيمتنا المضافة في جوانب أخرى... فهم إمكانيات الموقع... وتوجيه الخيارات الاستراتيجية... واقتراح المفاهيم... وصقل رؤية المشروع مع تطورها. أحيانًا، تكون بعض الرسومات التخطيطية الأولية والأفكار الجيدة الموجهة بالتجربة والإحاطة بالابعاد المختلفة أكثر قيمة من مجموعة المخرجات المعتادة. والنتيجة خير دليل. —— Perhaps the time has come for a fundamental shift in the way architects practice their profession—moving beyond the traditional model of design offices and the routine production of drawing packages. Architecture should return to its true essence. After all, it is not always wise to become so focused on the means that we lose sight of the purpose. Should an architect be defined by the drawings they produce, or by the problems they solve? With the rise of artificial intelligence and its ability to generate plans, drawings, and technical documentation, one fact has become increasingly clear: drawing is becoming accessible to everyone, while the ability to evaluate, interpret, and make sound judgments remains rare. The future of the architect therefore lies not merely in producing drawings, but in mastering the deeper substance of architecture. Architects will increasingly be valued not as producers of documents, but as strategists, coordinators, and problem solvers. A good illustration of this evolution is the "Mesmer Residence" project in Atar, northern Mauritania. In this project, our firm, MCB, supported the transformation of a traditional house into a residential property. Throughout this assignment, we deliberately chose not to produce the detailed technical documentation and execution drawings that are usually expected. Instead, our added value lay elsewhere: understanding the site's potential, guiding strategic decisions, developing the project's core concepts, and refining its vision as it evolved. Sometimes, a handful of thoughtful sketches and well-informed ideas—grounded in experience and a comprehensive understanding of the broader context—can create far greater value than an extensive set of conventional deliverables. The final result speaks for itself.
