After trying multiple outlets out in Oslo I found it is very challenging to get one of these rød hvit blåt jerseys that Nike is the official producer of for the Norwegian football team. People are queuing up for 5-6 hours outside places like Torshov Sport Fotball to get one of these. As I understood talking to sales reps. there are fans who’ve travelled to as far as London and have still returned empty handed. The refill happening each day in the stores is also way too limited and most likely not in the desired color. Nike’s price is NOK 1249 for the stadium version and NOK 1849 for the match version of the jersey. Stories on the internet suggest that they are being sold in the secondary market because of acute supply shortage and a global level support for Norway 🇳🇴 in the ongoing World Cup with Erling Haaland’s godly performance and admirable humility which has catapulted the demand for these jerseys to extreme levels. Any Nike shareholder like myself knows the financials challenges that the sports giant is going through for many quarters to keep the revenue growing but when opportunities like these are missed the top line and bottom line hurts. Seems like the demand planning and the back up plan to meet demand shock wasn’t forseen and then you have so many fans / customers returning empty handed or having to wait for days/ weeks. The jerseys are awesome by the way! Nike, just do it ✔️
