I wasn’t searching for words for an epic tale... My body armor protects what is whole - A heart that craves silence, love, and peace. In ears of wheat, I see childhood’s hail, In eyes, I see dawns that will never cease. You witness the weapons, you witness the strain, But here in this field, it’s life I sustain. I just want to go where my home used to be, With no bitter regrets left inside of me. I am a kind soul - it’s the choice I must make, For nothing can extinguish the light I possess. I'm here for our wounded spirits' sake, To scatter the darkness, the smoke, and distress.
