Can science and the arts coexist? Watching Skyla, a Biology and Musical Theatre double major, studying abroad in Scotland, my answer is a resounding yes. This clip begins with her performing If You Knew My Story from Bright Star at a traditional Scottish ceilidh (pronounced KAY-lee)—and ends with her getting the audience on its feet to learn a line dance she created. From Edinburgh to Glasgow to Glenelg, and soon to the stage at the world-renowned Edinburgh Festival Fringe, she’s embracing every opportunity to learn, grow, and share her gifts. The experiences that shape us most often happen when we step into unfamiliar places, share our gifts, and say yes to opportunities. Whether in a classroom, a laboratory, an office, a teams meeting, or on a stage, curiosity, creativity, and the ability to connect with others will always matter. Enjoy this little glimpse of her Scotland adventure. #StudyAbroad #Edinburgh #FestivalFringe #Biology #MusicalTheatre #Leadership #STEM #Arts #Scotland
