I learned about the passing of Erik "Camo" Linker while I was on vacation in the Black Hills. A day earlier I was remembering Jesse Combs as we followed lines on a map. So I spent the morning thinking of the life these two lived and how they impacted me. Each played a role in the play called King of the Hammers. Without the work they did at Pirate4x4.com there might not be a KOH. Then it occurred to me, they lived life as Memento Mori. Rich full lives of adventure, each died while doing what they loved. Who could ask for more? Last Sunday I learned we lost another KOH pioneer, Clay Egan. Another personality who lived life on the rev limiter. Clay was one of the most genuine guys you would ever meet. I was blessed to have known these people and this article is my tribute to those that chase the dust, the dreams and the adventure of the unknown. Perhaps you'll be encouraged to do the same; I know they each reminded me to step away from the keyboard and go live. As always please share your thoughts in the comments.
