The first book I read when we settled in Malta was "A Death in Malta" by Paul Caruana Galizia. It's the only book that has ever made me tear up. Reading it while getting to know Malta had a profound impact on me. It's an account of the life and murder of Maltese investigative journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia, written by her son. It is also a powerful reminder of the importance - and the cost - of holding power to account. Years after Daphne’s murder, a Maltese tycoon is now facing trial. As the jury continues to hear the evidence, I highly recommend the book to anyone following the case. https://lnkd.in/erSc8VUu
