I really appreciate this honest take on operational excellence from Peter Stavros at KKR. One thought it prompted: many businesses now entering PE ownership are founder-led or family-owned. They've built incredible businesses through experience, entrepreneurialism and deep institutional knowledge, but often without highly standardised operating models. That's where standardisation creates real value. Not by replacing the know-how that already exists, but by capturing it, making it repeatable and giving the organisation a platform to scale. Standardisation isn't about imposing processes. It's about partnering with the people who know the business best, preserving what makes it successful while creating greater clarity and consistency as the business grows. That clarity gives employees greater confidence in where the business is heading and how they can contribute to its next stage of growth. That's how operational excellence becomes a growth enabler and not just an efficiency programme. #MergersAndAcquisitions #DealStrategy #OperationalExcellence
