For years, the industry has worked to make charging easier: RFID cards, apps, roaming, AutoCharge and Plug & Charge have all helped move the experience forward. But there is still a gap. Many vehicles and chargers are not Plug & Charge-ready. AutoCharge has its known limitations. RFID and app-based flows still create friction for drivers and complexity for operators. That is where Seamless Charging comes in. Together with partners such as Vattenfall, WirelessCar is developing a new way to authorize charging automatically by combining connected vehicle data with charging infrastructure data. The vehicle is matched to the charger in the cloud - using the existing industry standards-, and the charging session can be initiated without the driver needing to use an RFID card, open an app, or manually select a charger. This is not Plug & Charge. This is not AutoCharge. This is a new complementary category: cloud-orchestrated, vehicle-data-enabled charging. https://lnkd.in/esKkJaiE
