Nowadays being a journalist is not easy, and true #freedom of expression is hard to achieve. But we are the bridge between power and the people. Silence is a choice, and we choose to speak 🗣️ This is my take on what #JournalismOutLoud meant at this year's #GMF26. I challenged myself to converse with diverse voices, create debate, and find future synergies. The biggest challenge was to condense over 20 powerful conversations into a 60-second reel. I couldn't fit everyone into the final cut, but every single conversation mattered 🙌🏼 Special thanks to experts Liz Shoo, Celine Isabelle Samson, and Emilio Reynoso; and participants Athina Bohner, Vanessa Bassil, Atzaz Mehdi, Emmanuel Dulac, María Inés Fiordelmondo, Winkate Bendig, Jens Eimermacher and Cel' SoAres for the inspiration. Shoutout to my #IMS classmates Linea Dishena, Karime Vázquez, Dalila Sherif, Kanchanit Kamolrattanakul, Eyob Abraha, Manahil Khan and Saimcan Büyüköztürk 👏🏼 for cheering me on and collaborating out there, and to Lucía Mattos, Fátima Chávez and Danna Bustos for the technical support with the camera 🎥 Thank you DW Global Media Forum, Deutsche Welle, and DW Akademie for the space. ➡️ So, what does #JournalismOutLoud mean to you in today's world?
