🔬 New Paper published: Evidence-based #TeleOphthalmology 🙏 Huge thanks to Professor Frank G. Holz, Professor Thomas Ach , Dr. med. Leon von der Emde and the team from Universitäts-Augenklinik Bonn for the work on this important follow-up publication. 👁️ We started Mirantus Health in 2022 with the mission to improve access to eye care, and the TOVIS pilot study followed in 2023 with the support of many partners and believers in this model. The research question of this new paper: Does teleophthalmology actually change what happens next for patients? — not just whether it's accepted. The results: - Acceptance stayed high — 82.5% would do it again, 76.9% would recommend it - 27% of residents told to see a specialist actually did so within 6 months - Main barriers: lack of perceived symptoms + logistics (transport, support) The takeaway: 💡 Teleophthalmology is excellent at finding disease that would otherwise go undetected — but detection alone isn't care. Closing the gap needs patient education, structured appointment management, and real logistical support. 🚀 This is exactly why Mirantus Health exists: to enable Shared Eyecare and Integrated Eyecare — building the bridge between opticians, tele-ophthalmologists and local ophthalmologists. 🤝 Thank you to everyone involved in the original TOVIS work in 2022/2023 — Prof. Dr. Robert Finger, Robert Habel, Andrea Vieth, Klaus Jeffrey Sprenger Dominik Woelki, Hannes Claußnitzer, Bernhard Peuckert Jörg Gehrmann Alisa Biemüller Dominik Pederzani Philipp Deutschen and many more at that time.
