"Sourcing the right data is the first job of an historian spending time in the archives, so I don't see why not you should not get interested in IT : It will change you from the Vatican, but maybe you will love it" This is what our old master Yves-Marie Bercé, former head of the Ecole Nationale des Chartes, who died yesterday, told me when I joined Capgemini. In a way, he gave his blessing to a career that was quite unexpected. He was the first one to get interest in popular riots against the monarchy, he was witty, did not think in silos and liked contradiction. His books are still very relevant. I wanted to pay a tribute to this brilliant teacher, who loved opening new doors and brought fun and support to the young historians we were. https://lnkd.in/eQUefpa7
