The same day news hit that Volkswagen is reportedly targeting job cuts of 100,000, double of what the company agreed earlier, top auto supplier #Bosch unexpectedly lost its top executive. Stefan Hartung, who's led the supplier to BMW Group and Mercedes-Benz AG since 2022, is leaving to pursue “new social commitments and entrepreneurial tasks,” Bosch said. During his tenure, Hartung put in place a wave of job cuts as the EV shift veered off course and the likes of Stellantis faced deep challenges. Now the industry needs to reach even deeper -- it's possible Hartung, who also held roles at Fraunhofer Institut and McKinsey, decided to make way for someone new to address the next round of painful restructuring.
