I genuinely believe that every one of our final-year students' projects has value, and that they leave the programme with the skills and knowledge to make a meaningful contribution to design practice. Sometimes a project comes along that completely challenges our expectations of what a graduate Interior Design project can be and how we convey that to a wider audience. Kyran Hobbs project, Liminal, explores the unsettling atmosphere of liminal spaces and the eerie qualities of interiors shaped by occupation, absence and memory. Rather than relying on conventional renders or walkthroughs, Kyran created an immersive film that uses sound, light and carefully curated objects to evoke a powerful emotional response. This is a shortened version of the film created for his Major Project. For the full experience, turn the sound on. De Montfort University
