DMCs were my main takeouts this week And I don’t mean Don’t Mention Cannes or Desperately Melting in Cannes but a Deep Meaningful Conversation. If anyone knows me, they know I bloody love a DMC, at any time of day or night. And that’s why Cannes was so great - because people are having them ‘officially’ on stage, in roundtables, on panel talks, and ‘unofficially’ on the beach, on the street, at lunch, in the bar, in the queue for the toilet. I loved the curiosity, the openness, the candour, the grit (the grittier the better) and whilst the PrettyGreen | The Global Fame Makers lot were asking ‘what’s the one thing in marketing that we should never let AI take control of?’, I learnt from the answers that more people are like me than I thought… craving human experiences, human connection and conversation… and actually an industry not striving for perfection - an industry celebrating and learning from their failures for true growth.
