Currently on a travel break before starting the Scientist Training Programme in Respiratory & Sleep Science at the Royal Free hospital in London.
I'm delighted to share that I have been offered a place on the NHS Scientist Training Programme (STP) in Respiratory & Sleep Science at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. For the past two years, I've been working in Melbourne and gained healthcare experience to strengthen my application. It has been a challenging but incredibly rewarding journey, and I'm grateful that my hard work has paid off. The STP is a highly competitive recruitment programme, involving writing 3 essays, a situational judgement test, and an interview, with the application process spanning over 6 months. This year over 11,000 applicants applied and competed for around 450 training places, so securing my top choice is a huge achievement. I'm excited to begin this next chapter in September, which will also include studying towards a part-time MSc in Clinical Science at Manchester Metropolitan University. After more than two years in Australia, the move back to the UK doesn't seem quite so bad!
