Speaking in front of 1,000+ legal professionals earlier last week was equal parts energizing and… humbling. Standing on a stage like this reminds you quickly—no matter how many conversations you’ve had one-on-one—that scale changes everything. A few reflections I took away: 1. It’s supposed to feel intimidating. Even with preparation, speaking to a room of this size pushes you. That tension, I’ve learned, is a good thing—it means you care about delivering value. 2. Never assume shared knowledge. What feels obvious to you may be entirely new (and valuable) to someone else. Clarity beats complexity every time. 3. The demand for insight is real. Law firm leaders are actively seeking better ways to think about growth, capital, and long-term strategy. The appetite for learning in this space is strong. 4. Collaboration accelerates everything. When you bring more perspectives into the room—more operators, more advisors, more ideas—you create momentum that’s hard to replicate in isolation. Grateful for the opportunity to be part of the conversation—and even more energized by the ideas, questions, and follow-ups that came out of it. Thank you to John Morgan, the entire Morgan Family, Morgan and Morgan and The Morgan Connection for including me in this experience.
