#New_Trends_in_Project_Management What if project success was no longer measured only by time, cost, and scope… but by sustainable impact? On April 24, 2026, photos of a newly renovated library were shared in a WhatsApp group in Hann Yarakh, in Dakar. A child asked his grandmother: “What is this?” “A library,” she replied. “What is inside?” “Books.” Then came a simple yet powerful question: “Will I be able to benefit from it?” “Yes.” Without even seeing it, the child was already amazed by what this project could bring to his life. This is the new reality of project management. Beyond deliverables, we create opportunities, access, and hope. Through the Youth & Social Impact program of the PMI Senegal Chapter, we contributed to the rehabilitation of the library at École El Hadj Doudou Mbathie. A simple project at first glance, yet structured like any professional initiative: infrastructure rehabilitation, improved accessibility, integration of digital tools with a computer for managing book loans, and most importantly, the creation of a space that fosters learning. More than 400 students will directly benefit from this initiative. Today, project management is evolving. It is becoming a driver of sustainability, inclusion, and social transformation. The real question is no longer: “Did we deliver the project?” But rather: “What lasting impact have we created?” Project Management Institute Project Managers Without Borders Project Management Institute Educational Foundation (PMIEF) Project Management Institute Africa Page PMI Senegal Chapter
