I was suppose to be a midwife ... Yep, a carribean girl, surrounded by a family of nurses and NHS Professionals... When I started my ACCA journey, I genuinely had no idea where those letters after my name would take me. At the time, I simply wanted to build a career, create opportunities, and prove to myself what was possible. What I didn’t realise was that accountancy was never just about numbers. ✅ It would give me a passport into boardrooms. ✅ Into international businesses. ✅ Into conversations that shape strategy. ✅ Into leadership. It would teach me resilience, commercial thinking, confidence, and how to use my voice. A career in Finance has served me incredibly well — and now I’m entering a season where giving back feels just as important as achieving. More than that, I’m learning to live life with purpose and not just on autopilot. For so long, life was about the next milestone, the next title, the next target. But I’m realising that success means very little if you never pause to ask whether you are creating impact, opening doors, and leaving things better than you found them. That’s why sitting down for this podcast meant so much to me. Not just to talk about the successes, but the lessons, the mistakes, the challenges, and the reality behind the job titles. Because somewhere there is someone starting their ACCA Journey, wondering if it’s worth it. Someone questioning if they belong in the room. Someone who doesn’t yet realise the opportunities waiting for them. 𝐌𝐲 𝐦𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞 — 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠. You never know which doors your journey will open. And when you finally walk through those doors… remember to leave them open for the person coming behind you. 🤎 Thank you to those who have poured into me during this season of growth — those who have encouraged me, challenged me, and reminded me of the power of my own voice.
