Senior SET/Backend Engineer, Test Governance team | GitLab | CI/CD · Test Infrastructure · Developer Tooling · Agentic AI-assisted Engineering. Formerly Puppet, IBM

Six years. A pandemic. An IPO. Vegas. Security Analyzers. A modular test framework built using agentic AI, which I've found changes how you think about engineering entirely. What a run. I recently left GitLab as part of a redundancy round. It wasn't easy news, but I'm leaving with a lot of good memories and genuine gratitude for the journey. Our team, Test Governance in Developer Experience, was particularly badly hit in this round, and I want to say: I worked with some brilliant people there. It was a privilege. To those still at GitLab, please don't succumb to survivor syndrome. You're there for a reason. Put your best work in. I'll be cheering you on from the sidelines. And I'll miss the ALL-CAPS channel more than I probably should. Remote working can be isolating, and it was a genuine bright spot. You know who you are. Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end. I'll be #OpenToWork from mid-July, open to Senior Backend, SET, or platform engineering roles, particularly where CI/CD, developer experience, and agentic AI intersect. Reach out if you're hiring or just want to catch up. #OpenToWork #SoftwareEngineering #BackendEngineering #SET #SoftwareEngineerInTest #CI #CD #AI #AgenticAI #TestAutomation #GitLab
