✨𝗜 𝗗𝗜𝗗 𝗜𝗧✨ I’ve spent a lot of my career encouraging others to challenge themselves, step into the unknown and do the things that stretch them. So it felt only right that I did the same… 🤦🏼‍♀️ Which somehow led to me abseiling down the Spinnaker Tower to raise money for some incredible charities in #portsmouth who I love dearly ✨ Spark Community Space Motiv8 Pompey in the Community ✨ I’ll be honest, I was expecting to feel a lot more nerves than I did but that changed when I got to the hatch in my kit… I was absolutely terrified yet in the same breath, so excited by the challenge… sometimes the things that scare us most are the things that remind us what we’re capable of! What struck me most wasn’t the abseil itself. It was the people! The encouragement from those on the ground Laura Playfoot Jodie May Diane Urquhart Matt Simmons Kirsty Hill Kirsty Robertson Becki Simmons Joe Weston-McDowell Anne Davies Sophie King Clare Martin MBE sandie davis Paul Playford and my fellow abseilers Alex Shrimpton Emily Burt Neil Wilson Dan Charlesworth Alex Marenghi The people who donated to such worthy cause, thank you🙏🏼 The laughter that helped calm the nerves😍 The shared purpose of coming together to support something bigger than ourselves. Today reminded me how powerful community really is 💪🏼 So this has made me reflect on two things: ✨ Challenge yourself, even when it feels uncomfortable. ✨ Support others,we all go further when we lift each other up. And if that support occasionally involves dangling down the side of a building while questioning every life choice that you’ve ever made… well, apparently that’s part of the deal too😂🤷🏼‍♀️ BIG Congratulations to everyone who took part today, here’s to courage, collaboration and creating a wider impact together for our community 🫶🏼 #portsmouthcentenary #community #abseiling
