The recent court ruling against Airbus brought us back once again to the tragedy of the AF447 accident, which took place almost 17 years ago. On behalf of Airbus, I want to express my deepest sympathies to the families and loved ones of the victims. Since the first day of this tragedy, Airbus’s commitment has remained steadfast: to assist judicial authorities and technical investigators in understanding the events, and to draw every possible lesson to further enhance Airbus' and the industry's safety standards. It is hard to understand the decision made by the Paris Court of Appeal, which stands in contradiction to previous judicial rulings. In accordance with legal procedures, we have decided to lodge an appeal with the Court of Cassation to ensure a further legal review. Safety is at the heart of everything we do. As the leader of this company, it is a responsibility I carry personally, alongside the entire Airbus team. It guides every decision we make and every action we take, every single day. We will continue to act with rigour and transparency, fully aware of the responsibility we hold toward the millions of people who fly on Airbus aircraft every day.
