I’m trying to share more about the work I do because I’m so, so lucky to work with so many amazing people. I’m starting the year strong with a project on caregivers, in collaboration with Chin Soo Fang. For this story, we spoke to seven caregivers about the joys and struggles of caring for their loved ones. What struck me most was their strong sense of duty and love each of them had. At the same time, we wanted to show that caregiving is not easy work, especially when so much of your time, energy, and identity revolve around giving care. I hope our story was able to capture that complexity. A huge thank you to the profiles, organisations, and experts we spoke to who contributed greatly to the story. But also thank you to the best team ever for pulling off this ambitious project with me. When we first started conceptualising it, I don’t think any of us knew how it would've turned out -- but look at what we did!! Reporting by Chin Soo Fang and me, gorgeous illustrations and animations by Charlotte Tan Xuan Ci + Marcelo Duhalde, incredible dev work by Wei Xian Chee, rockstar styles and Shannimations by Shannon Teoh, Rod P. for his visual editing, and Stephanie Adeline and Charlene Chua for editing and elevating my work (and for always providing much-needed moral support).
