Over the past 14 years, I’ve had the privilege of building and leading a Talent Acquisition function that has grown, evolved and adapted at the City of Gold Coast. What started as a largely transactional service became something much more. A team of skilled, trusted Talent Partners who genuinely care about the impact they make. Not just filling roles, but shaping teams, influencing leaders and contributing to the broader success of the organisation. Along the way, I’ve worked with some incredible people. Team members past and present who have each left their mark. Different strengths, different styles, but all contributing to what we’ve built together. I’m genuinely grateful for every one of them. There’s something special about seeing people grow in their careers, step into bigger roles, and carry forward the standards and mindset we worked hard to create. That’s the part I’ll always be most proud of. And now, as a result of a re-alignment of the Chief People Office, in a week and a half, I step into a new role and a new challenge. It’s a shift. A different lens. And if I’m honest, a step outside the comfort zone I’ve built over more than a decade. But that’s exactly the point. I’m looking forward to bringing everything I’ve learned in Talent Acquisition into this next chapter, with a focus on improving how we think about workforce, capability and service delivery across the organisation. To the team, Ashley Shannon, Anneliisa Tonisson, Carly Barnes, Ashleigh Newlyn, Kirsty Wiik, Sheree Whillans, Jansen Croft, Alex Benjamin, Alexandra McNulty, Tiffen Roberts, Virginia Cason, Michelle Field and all those in the past who I worked with, thank you.
