How good is footy. Here’s my AFL - Australian Football League Gather Round Wrapped. Dropped a bigger slightly questionable highlights package from the weekend over on my Insta too….. I honestly love this event. This year was massive. It’s always a bit of business mixed in with plenty of fun, plus family and mates. The crossover between footy and music is properly firing and the city turned it up. Got to connect IRL with some great people in the industry, watch some cracking footy, do a bit of networking, a bit of partying, and eat and drink ridiculously well. Stories for days. Some of the best moments from the 4 x day footy fest: • Crows win in the wet after an elite feed at Little Hunter • too many wines and records at Longplay Bistro & Cocktails at Honeydripper on Frome Rd to celebrate • Hearing from Fox Footy legends and Peter Malinauskas at the R.M.Williams Sydney Swans Gather Round brekky and having a laugh with some new connections well played April Davies !!! • Vilis pies and Coopers pale everywhere you look + whatsapp message groups going 🍌 when trying to meet up for a quick beer • moshing with legends fitzy and mickey o at BAD//DREEMS, & West Theb at Unibar, then a singalong with a bunch of new mates at DMA’s next door to the Oval • The Pepsi Collective and Pirate Life deck with the best seats in the house at Adelaide Oval • Dan Gorringe’s watch party and content rolling all weekend • cocktails, wine games and long lunches at Star of Greece and The Victory, making new mates along the way talking footy, music, family and business non stop. • pre game lunch at the Alma followed by a sneak peek behind the scenes in the KOJO production OB at the game • Swans belting the Suns at Norwood • Saints and Bombers getting it done, then the Norwood Food and Wine Festival into The Presets playing bangers • Recovery cuppa with Granny this morning and lunch with Mum before flying home. Also worth noting… the RMs were on all weekend in every bit of weather, and the feet are still sweet. Even though I missed ya. Absolutely nailed it. The whole experience felt like Gather Round started the moment I hit the Virgin lounge in Sydney & carried right through the trip home even on the flight. Rachael Farrington Accor well played the Pullman was cranking as was the Sofitel as I truly did get to experience first hand what its like to STAY WHERE THE PLAYERS STAY, awesome to see the kids getting autographs in the lobby from Dockers! Already looking forward to next year. Now to recharge both my and my phone battery. Play on!
