As hiring managers, we have a responsibility to estimate the agentic half life of a role! Most junior/intermediate roles in SMBs have a 2-year shelf life at best. • Don't poach. Why lure someone away from a job only to make them redundant in months? • Look at the displaced. Prefer candidates who have already been laid off. • Consider the severance. Taking someone out of a long-tenured position resets their "safety net" to zero. If you can't guarantee longevity, don't recruit for it.
