Recently published a deeper dive on Meta and how the company actually works beneath the surface. Meta is often described as a social media company. That framing misses the point. It is better understood as an integrated system designed to capture, optimize, and monetize attention at global scale. A few takeaways: - Advantage comes from systems, not products. Meta’s edge is how its #platforms, #AI, #advertising, and #infrastructure reinforce each other. - AI has changed the basis of competition. Discovery is now driven more by models than social graphs. - Scale compounds. Engagement → data → models → monetization → infrastructure → back to engagement. - Infrastructure is strategic. Compute, energy, and data center capacity are now core to competitive advantage. Sharing the full piece below. Would appreciate any thoughts.
