On March 20th, I was proud to help bring The Valkyrie Project Inc’s fourth annual Military Women’s Symposium to life. This work is deeply personal to me. The conversations at the center of this symposium, around the experiences, needs, health, and readiness of military women, are the conversations I wish had been more prevalent and prioritized when I was serving in uniform. That is part of what makes this work so meaningful. It is not just about convening people in a room. It is about creating space for honest dialogue, elevating issues that have too often been overlooked, and helping move the conversation toward real awareness and action. I’m grateful for the role I played in helping make these conversations possible alongside Candace Esquivel, and am honored to contribute to work that gives back to the women who serve.
