To mark today's International Women's Day, I had the privilege of attending the #TagDerFrau2026 event last Friday at the venerable Federal Palace in Bern, at the invitation and initiative of parliamentarians Eva Herzog and Maja Riniker. This year's theme: "Women and AI" – two topics very close to my heart! It was a special honor to be on the panel discussing the opportunities and challenges of Artificial Intelligence. Many thanks to the moderators Melanie Pfändler and Romaine Jean for expertly guiding the discussion, and to my esteemed fellow panelists Prof. Dr. Anna Jobin (University of Fribourg / President of the Federal Media Commission (EMEK)) and Adrienne Fichter (esteemed investigative journalist on tech topics) for the exciting exchange! The two keynotes by Prof. Hon. Solange Ghernaouti and the amazing Bea Knecht (Zattoo) were absolute highlights. Bea Knecht's appeal to seize the opportunities of new technologies, while not losing sight of the risks posed by the underrepresentation of women in datasets, particularly resonated. Veronica Fusaro, who will represent Switzerland at this year's Eurovision Song Contest, provided some goosebump moments. Her musical performance had the over 300 women in the National Council Chamber swaying along! A huge thank you to all the organizers and to the President of the National Council Pierre-André Page, 1. Vice President of the National Council Katja Christ, and President of the Swiss Confederation Guy Parmelin, who framed this memorable day with their welcoming remarks. A very, very inspiring day that I had the pleasure of experiencing with my colleagues from AXA Schweiz: Regula Schenkel-Luthiger, Nadine Golinelli, Sabine Ulli, Soraya Weiner, Marietheres Flageul (geb. Krichel), and Tanja Altenburger. #InternationalWomensDay2026 #TagDerFrau2026 #WomenInTech #ArtificialIntelligence #AXA digitalswitzerland
