For years we’ve heard that exercise helps protect the brain from #Alzheimer’s. Now scientists may know why. In a new study from University of California, San Francisco researchers led by neuroscientist Saul Villeda and Gregor Bieri found that exercise triggers a blood protein (GPLD1) that helps repair the brain’s protective barrier and reduce inflammation linked to cognitive decline. In short: movement may biologically strengthen the brain’s defenses. A reminder that one of the most powerful tools for brain health might still be the simplest: exercise. https://lnkd.in/g-Hm2bBR
