Strengthening the Foundation for Our Future Expansion Day 2 of our Value Engineering Workshop focused on one critical reality: hospital expansion is not just about buildings and clinical space — it is about infrastructure readiness. We were joined by representatives from Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), Air Selangor, Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL) and Indah Water Konsortium (IWK). Their participation ensures that our Phase 2 expansion is aligned with long-term power capacity, water sustainability, planning approvals and sewerage requirements — critical elements for a high-acuity cardiac centre like IJN. We were also honoured by the presence of both Chairmans and members of the Development Committee Board, who provided strategic guidance on the overall design and concept of the expansion. Their discussions went beyond bricks and mortar — challenging us to rethink workflow, digital integration, and how Artificial Intelligence can be embedded into our clinical processes and patient experience journey. My sincere appreciation to Dato Seri Chen Chaw Min, Tan Sri Dr Nor Hisham Abdullah, Dato’ Seri Tg. Hasmuddin, Dato’ Kamalul, Dato’ Rohaizat and En Shaiful for their detailed insights and constructive recommendations. Their perspective ensures that what we build today remains relevant, efficient and future-ready for the next 10–15 years. At IJN, expansion is not about size. It is about strengthening resilience, advancing capability, and elevating the standard of heart care for generations to come. #IJN #MalaysiasHeartSpecialistCentre #PatientsFirst
