🎈 Up, up, and away! Last week, I had a great time at the "USA-Tag - Smart Investment Strategies" event in #Graz, which left feeling totally inspired by how many constructive conversations can happen in just a few hours. 🤝 My favorite parts of this day were connections and conversations! 🌉 The ICS Internationalisierungscenter Steiermark along with the U.S. Commercial Service, WKO Steiermark, and the U.S. Embassy Vienna brought together many different people at this event who all share one goal: building stronger bridges between the Styrian and U.S. markets. I especially appreciated the smooth professional organization of the event by Daniela Guss and her team members, Jennifer Zöhrer and Abigail Garcia. Thanks for allowing me to share information about my US Americans in Graz and Styria (#USA_GS) group and my company at this event! 🙏 It was great to speak with ICS Director Karl Hartleb and WKO Steiermark President Josef Herk, and listen to 'impulse' talks from seasoned veterans of these kinds of events like Willibald Ehrenhöfer and Jürgen Roth. But I also really enjoyed hearing what three young (and very excited) apprentices attending the event for the first time thought of the #SelectUSA program. 🗝️ Having gone to these 'USA-Tag' events now for many years, I was interested to hear the keynote speech of the new U.S. Ambassador, Arthur Fisher, as he shared his perspectives on current opportunities for cooperation between the U.S. and Austria. 📈 In the afternoon, at the USA Investment Match sessions, I spoke with economic development officers from several U.S. states about their regions, their companies, and how my #ScienceCommunication offers can help them translate their and their clients' complex research into clear, engaging stories. Special thanks go out to all Norbert Hübler, Peter Baumgartner, MSc., and many other fascinating conversation partners I met on this day. These kinds of exchanges remind me why I attend events like this.
