As my final days as Head of Global E-Commerce at Rotho Kunststoff AG are in sight, it's time for a short but heartfelt thank you. Over the past three years, we’ve gone through a truly disruptive e-commerce transformation: moving to data-driven, marketplace-focused business – including some very tough (and very long) negotiations with Amazon. I’m proud of what we achieved together, but even more grateful for the people behind it: - first of all Benjamin Abbenseth and Frank Holzweißig as the former architects of this strong setup helping to scale. - my E-Commerce & web shop teams, for your trust, energy and resilience in uncertain and everchanging times - including of course also Christina Gansel and Hannes Karl - all colleagues in Sales (especially Andreas Kruegener), Marketing (Robert G. and Marc Gerlach), Customer Service, IT & Finance, for making “digital” work in real life a bit better - our Board of Directors and Management Team, for the trust and courage to back bold decisions - especially thanks to Dawid Kopalski - a special thank you to our Head of Logistics André Manke and his team for turning ambitious promises into on-time deliveries – often faster than was comfortable, I know - I will miss our discussions. We survived countless negotiation rounds, alignment meetings and assortment discussions. We probably talked about "Buy Box surpressions" more often than about the weather. And no, “just one last check in Seller / Vendor Central” is still not a healthy evening routine. I leave Rotho with humility, gratitude, pride of the achievements and many good memories.
